Pickleball is a fast-growing paddle sport that blends elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. Pickleball:
Is played on a 20' × 44' court (same size as a doubles badminton court) with a net that is 36" tall at the posts and 34" high in the center
Uses a perforated plastic ball (similar to a Wiffle ball) and solid paddles
Can be played as singles or doubles
Begins with an underhand serve
Pickleball also provides ample opportunities for social engagement and community building!
USA Pickleball (USAP) is the official governing body for pickleball in the United States. USAP has a process for annually considering and making changes to the official rules. Typically, a new rulebook is published every year. Players are encouraged to review the USA Pickleball Official 2025 Rulebook. USAP also publishes a brief Basic Rules Summary that covers the most important aspects of the game.
